My husband (Bud) and I run a working cattle ranch. He and his family have operated the ranch for over a 100 years. His Great Grandparents were original owners (homesteaders) and built Down Home in 1911. We decided to fix it up and turn it into a vacation rental as well as offering Whitetail and Mule Deer and Merriam's Turkey hunts. We enjoy having people come and be able to experience this wonderful, beautiful place we live in! Northwest Nebraska is so different from what most people think of about Nebraska which is flat fields of CORN!! We almost border the Black Hills of SD and have canyons and pine trees - beautiful country and a lot of history to explore!! Our ranch is close to Crawford, Fort Robinson, Agate Fossil Beds, Hudson-Meng, and an enjoyable day trip to Hot Springs, SD and of course Mt. Rushmore (the Faces) in the Black Hills.
