Mike Shambaugh- Produce for All

Mike Shambaugh is from the Lincoln area and has developed an organization to help get fresh produce to those in need. He and a group of volunteer collaborate with local agricultural producers to collect fresh produce (potatoes, asparagus, beets, apple, etc.) that does not meet the stringent food specifications that are required for it to be sold.
This food would in some cases just go to waste but Mike and his crew hand pick and harvest the crop then take it to area food pantry’s, soup kitchen, senior centers, etc. His motto is “Because every parent deserves the right to say “eat your vegetables”.  He describes the food waste issues and food insecurity issues in this country.
This is open to the public.
