Dr. Lennie Waite is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and has over a decade of experience working
with and studying elite performers. Prior to her career in sport psychology, Waite was an NCAA All-American at Rice University and competed
internationally in the sport track and field athlete for nine years post-collegiately. She represented Great Britain at an Olympic Games, World
Championships, European Championships, and multiple European Team Championship events. While pursuing professional athletics, Waite
completed her PhD in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, where her research focused on topics including performance maximization, team
dynamics, personality, and motivation. She is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), a member of the USOPC Sport Psychology
Registry, and works with elite and Olympic athletes across a range of sports. Waite is passionate about helping athletes maximize their
performance and manage the stressors and pressures of elite sport. She continues to stay involved with athletes at the high school, collegiate, and
professional level as a central part of her research and consulting in applied performance psychology.
